Qawwali · 1 song

Fateh Ali Khan (1901–1964) was a Pakistani qawwal of the Qawwal Bachchon ka Gharana, who sang with his brother Mubarak Ali Khan as one of the great qawwali duos of the 1950s. Their 'Na To Butkade Ki Talab Mujhe', to words by Ameer Bakhsh Sabri, was well enough known to shape the qawwali sequence of the film Barsaat Ki Raat (1960). He is remembered as much for what he handed on: his sons were Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan, and it was in his party that Nusrat learned the form. He is a different man from Ustad Bade Fateh Ali Khan of the Patiala gharana, with whom he is often confused.
