Kashif Ali — credited on much of his own work by his birth name, Kashif Ali Baber — is a Pakistani singer from Lahore, the son of a flutist who wrote for Pakistani films, and a performer since he was seven. He reached the country at large through the first season of Pakistan Idol: knocked out at the semi-final stage, brought back on the highest wildcard vote, and finished fourth. He sang 'Shamaan Pai Gaiyaan' with Rachel Viccaji on Coke Studio Season 9 under Shiraz Uppal, and made his Bollywood debut the same year with 'Mera Mann'.
