Khamaaj
Khamaaj are a fusion band from Islamabad who put Sufi kalaam through electric guitars — their own description is simply a band "trying to make its way through these tough conditions in which the art of live music is dying". They reached a national audience through Pepsi Battle of the Bands with 'Bezubaan' and 'Chimta', a setting of Bulleh Shah, and later recorded 'Faryaad' with Abida Parveen. The album Ehsaas followed in 2023. The line-up is Syed Arsalan Shah (vocals), Muhammad Mahmood Khan (guitars, and the band's producer), Mohsin Khan (bass), Yourash Parvez (keys), Shahzaib Parvez (percussion) and Saqib Sagheer (drums).
