The Sachal Studios Orchestra, also billed as the Sachal Jazz Ensemble, grew out of Izzat Majeed's Sachal Studios in Lahore, built to give the city's veteran film-studio musicians work again. Their sitar-and-tabla reading of Dave Brubeck's Take Five went around the world in 2011, led to concerts with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and is the subject of the documentary Song of Lahore.
